Hard earned victory puts Hantuchova in Semi’s

Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova has reached the semi finals of the Pacific Life Open in Indian Wells tournament. The 14th seed Hantuchova defeated Israelien Shahar Peer in an exciting match in 3 sets: 6-2, 5-7, 7-6.

Hantuchova will now meet Chinese talent Na Li, the 12th seed, who got rid of Vera Zvonareva.

The other matches in the quarters of the Pacific Life Open are Nicole Vaidisova of Czech versus Svetlana Kuznetsova and Sybille Bammer versus Tatiana Golovin.

The Pacific Life Open is a Masters tournament with a total prize money of 2.1 million dollar. It was won last year by Maria Sharapova who defeated Elena Dementieva in straight sets.
